MEDIA RELEASE: Homecorp Contributes to Capricorn Coast’s Centenary of Anzac Project.

25 July 2014

The developer behind the soon to be launched $500 million ‘The Pines’ residential community in Yeppoon has donated $100,000 towards the Centenary of Anzac Project on the Emu Park headland foreshore.

Homecorp, CEO and Founder Ron Bakir today joined representatives from the federal and state governments, the Livingstone Shire Council, RSL Clubs, Bendigo Bank and the local community to launch stage 1 of the project.

The first stage of the Centenary of Anzac Project will include integrated street-scaling, rotundas, parkland enhancement and an interpretive ‘Memorial Walkway’ around Emu Park’s scenic foreshore headland.

Mr Bakir said he was honoured to be able to announce a contribution of $100,000 towards stage one. “We are very proud to be part of this community and it is with great pleasure that we announce our contribution.

“If it wasn't for the efforts of our war heroes we wouldn't be standing here today and I think we should do everything we can to keep the Anzac spirit alive as well as the memories of those who died for our freedom.”

Mr Bakir said it was particularly poignant to be able to contribute to a revitalisation of the Emu Park headland foreshore while at the same time preparing to launch a totally new concept in master planned living at Yeppoon.

“We think this is a wonderful place to live. The people of the Capricorn Coast have welcomed us and there is strong interest in The Pines which is an easy drive from this beautiful location and only 25 minutes from Rockhampton.

“We expect The Pines will bring new people to the region and win over countless fans for Yeppoon but it’s important that everyone understands our history and the place of those who fought to establish what we have here already. We encourage all locals and visitors alike to visit this area when completed so they can fully appreciate its significance.”

Mr Bakir thanked everyone involved in the Capricorn Coast Centenary of Anzac Project and encouraged other businesses to donate to the project if they can.

Homecorp Group is headquartered on the Gold Coast and has been operating across Australia since 2004. Homecorp Group CEO Mr Ron Bakir was named Gold Coast Young Entrepreneur of the Year in November 2013.
